Paper title - 8 ~ 12 단어. 

 

: (콜론) 사용법. 

콜론 뒤에 목록으로 시작할 때, 소문자 사용.

ex) These are my favorite fruits: apples, bananas, and oranges.

 

: (콜론) 다음에 두 개 이상의 문자이 나올 때 대문자 사용.

ex) The proposed method has the following merits: (a) It can be widely applied; (b) It can easily be extended to study the effect of external fields; (c) The binding energy can be calculated explicitly. 

- Figure caption 달아줄때 많이 사용됨. 

 

세미콜론 사용법. 

두 문장을 연결어로 연결할 때 사용. 

The proposed method is very accurate; however, it is not practical.

 

여러 항목을 나열할 때 각각에 콤마가 있다면 세미콜론 사용.

a=1, b=2; c=3, d=4; and e=5, f=6.

 

하이픈 (-) 사용법. 

명사 앞에서 수식할 때 하이픈 사용.

ex)

The time-step restriction is not based on stability, but accuracy. 

It is a well-known result that this scheme is unconditionally stable.

 

명사 뒤에서 수식할 때 하이픈 미사용.

ex)

The result is well known.

It is well known that conservative discretizations conserve the conservative quantities. 

 

분수는 하이픈으로 연결.

1/3   one-third 단수형

2/3   two-thirds 복수형. 

 

배수 차이 표현. / factor and order

 

A factor of two  (2배 차이)

A factor of three - (3배 차이)

ex)

This reduction accelerates the computations by a factor of two. 

 

Two orders of  (10의 2승, 100배 차이)

The new device is more than two orders of magnitude faster than previous single-electron devices.

 

형용사의 어순. 

지시 > 수량 > 대소 > 성상 > 신구 > 재료 순서로 위치. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

주의해야할 표현.

1. 구어체 사용 금지!

2. 단축형 (it's, isn't, weren't 등) 사용 금지

3. 문장을 시작할 때 So 대신 Hence, Therefore 사용

4. 문장을 시작할 때 And, But 대신 Furthermore, However 사용

 

축약어.

e.g. = exempli gratia = for instance 

Any facial response (e.g., a surprised blink of both eyes) was recorded.

i.e. = id est = that is = therefore = in other words

et al. = et alii = and others

etc. = cetera = the rest

vs. = versus = against

 

대문자 사용

사람 이름에서 유래한 단어는 그 단어의 앞을 대문자로 표시.
